Pr. Camille Budo

Camille Budo obtains the degree of Doctor in Medecine with Great Distinction at the University of Liège (Belgium) in 1972.

Four years later at the same University, he obtains the degree of Doctor Specialized in Ophtalmology, with Great Distinction.

 

Established since 1976 in a private practice in Sint-Truiden, he specializes in pathology and surgery of the anterior segment.

Since 1987, he is actively involved in the development and evaluation of a new intraocular implant concept called ARTISAN / ARTIFLEX ® (www.ophtec.com) intended for the correction of ametropia.

 

He was elected to the ESCRS (the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Board of Directors(www.escrs.org). He was vice president of the Nederlandse Intraoculaire Implant Club (NIOIC).

 

On 1 January 2008, he transferred his medical practice to the University of Maastricht, which appointed him Associate Professor.

On July 1, 2014, at the age of retirement, he was leaving office.

In June 2015, he moved his activities at the “Galand Ophtalmology Center” in Neupré, Liège.

 

He is a member of the SBO, the Belgian society of Ophtalmology(www.bog-sbo.org), of the NOG, the Dutch Ophtalmology society (www.oogheelkunde.org), of the ASCRS, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (www.ascrs.org), of the ISRS, the International Society of Refractive Surgery (www.isrs.org) and of the SFO, la Société Française d’Ophtalmologie (www.sfo.asso.fr).

Dr. Minh Tri Hua

Minh Tri Hua is a renowned eye surgeon specialized in anterior segment pathology. He studied at the University of Liège and worked at the CHR de la Citadelle de Liège until 2013.

 

Afterwards, he moved to the Hospital of the University of Leuven (UZ Leuven) where he performed cataract surgeries (>1000 cases per year) and cornea surgeries.

 

He is one of the few eye surgeons in Belgium who performs the technique of lamellar cornea transplantation called DMEK.

 

Dr Hua was president of the Belgian Ophthalmological Congress in 2016 and is consultant for several medical firms involved in ocular surgery.

Dr. Antoine Vanderperren

In 2018, Antoine Vanderperren obtained the degree of Doctor of Medicine with Great Distinction from ULg (Belgium). Destined to become a cardiologist, he discovered a real passion for ophthalmology during his internships and therefore changed his plans to become an ophthalmologist.

 

It was after 4 years of specialization at the University of Liège and CHR Citadelle that he obtained his degree of Specialist Physician in Ophthalmology, with Great Distinction.

 

He also successfully passed the Clinical Ophthalmology ICO Examination (INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL of OPHTHALMOLOGY).
This dynamic young doctor currently works in our center, as well as at CHC Montlegia and CHC Waremme.

 

He specializes in general ophthalmology as well as cataract surgery. In the future, he plans to specialize in Oculoplasty, a field of ophthalmology that he is particularly fond of.

Mme. Hafida Galand

Hafida Galand founded the Ophthalmology Center with Professor Albert Galand in 2004 and since then has been acting director and instrumentalist in the operating room
